Willie & Willie Contractors and Legend Homes worked hand-in-hand through the next nine years. Eventually, Mark decided to move to Atlanta and take over that business, becoming its sole owner. Debbie and Randy took on sole ownership of Willie & Willie. Both Willie & Willie and Legend Homes still work hand-in-hand, and Debbie and Randy continue to build on the solid foundation and reputation that Murlin built for them-building on his vision and adding their own to it.

Summer of 2008 Mark moved back home from Atlanta to join the family business. Putting his experience to work, he now looks over the operations of the business, is building our commercial operations and works closely with his nephew Dustin with construction management.

"We've worked for Dad and learned so much from him, and we've owned our own business and established our own vision," said Debbie. "We've had the best of both worlds-learning from the best and taking that knowledge to build something of our own for our own children. Now we're combining that experience as we continue to build beautiful quality and affordable homes for Baton Rouge families through Willie & Willie Contractors and Legend Homes."

In a tribute to the man who possessed such great vision and helped shape the way homes would be built, the local home builders association, Capital Region Builders Association, named its builder of the year award after the Murlin Willie in 1993. It is and will always be a great honor to his family, which carries on his business and his vision so proudly.
